Generally speaking, I don't like being around a large group of other people's kids. Weird coming from a teacher, no?
But large groups of kids, like say, at a kid's birthday party, tend to be, well, you know. Somewhat unsupervised.
So I wasn't entirely looking forward to baby Aaron's first birthday party. Especially when I heard it was was of those, all-out-bounce-house-Barney-pizza-and-pinata kinds of parties.
But, it was a beautiful day, Aaron's parents have a lovely backyard, and, aside from the neighbor girl trying to take down Barney, I'd say a good time was had by all.
Turns out Aaron and his big brother have lots of cool stuff in the backyard (besides the bounce house and Barney), and my girls pretty much wore out the battery on this little Jeep.
Look at this fantastic sign I found hanging on the fence!
So maybe Aaron didn't even realize what was going on. But we ended up having a very nice day. And, yes, that is the entire bottom of the pinata that Emma used to collect her winnings.
