A different spin on things this week, in honor of Stellan, MckMama and her MckFamily (Natalie is hosting a surprise Stellan-Style Not Me! Monday over here):
I did not spend a large part of my week checking her site every chance I got as soon as I found out that Stellan had been admitted to the hospital.
I am way too professional to try to figure out a way around the firewall at work so I could read her Twitter updates.
My heart was certainly not in my throat as each update came through, especially this one.
I would never have thought to tell MckMama to forget all about updating "us" and concentrate solely on her dear boy when she posted earlier this week about how tired she was getting.
Of course, I would not have written my first prayer request ever at church this morning about Stellan for our pastor to read during our services. She did not also pray for Stellan's parents, even though I inadvertently {really!} did leave them out of my request, since she knew that they would also need our prayers. My request will also not be typed onto a weekly prayer list to be passed out to church members to pray on all week.
I had not spent almost all afternoon on Sunday checking for the latest update (refresh, refresh, refresh!) and hating the fact that there hadn't been one all day up to me writing this post, then feeling guilty that I felt that way.
I didn't get my 7-year old daughter involved by requesting that she think of a way to photograph Stellan's name for his gallery. And she didn't grab the bull by the horns and come up with these cute hand-made letters that she also decorated with little messages like, "God bless Stellan," and with little footprints and footballs.
