Not me! Monday {Praying for Stellan edition}

A different spin on things this week, in honor of Stellan, MckMama and her MckFamily (Natalie is hosting a surprise Stellan-Style Not Me! Monday over here):

I did not spend a large part of my week checking her site every chance I got as soon as I found out that Stellan had been admitted to the hospital.

I am way too professional to try to figure out a way around the firewall at work so I could read her Twitter updates.

My heart was certainly not in my throat as each update came through, especially this one.

I would never have thought to tell MckMama to forget all about updating "us" and concentrate solely on her dear boy when she posted earlier this week about how tired she was getting.

Of course, I would not have written my first prayer request ever at church this morning about Stellan for our pastor to read during our services.  She did not also pray for Stellan's parents, even though I inadvertently {really!} did leave them out of my request, since she knew that they would also need our prayers.  My request will also not be typed onto a weekly prayer list to be passed out to church members to pray on all week.

I had not spent almost all afternoon on Sunday checking for the latest update (refresh, refresh, refresh!) and hating the fact that there hadn't been one all day up to me writing this post, then feeling guilty that I felt that way.

I didn't get my 7-year old daughter involved by requesting that she think of a way to photograph Stellan's name for his gallery. And she didn't grab the bull by the horns and come up with these cute hand-made letters that she also decorated with little messages like, "God bless Stellan," and with little footprints and footballs.

"Not Me!" Monday!

NotMeMonday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

We have not eaten take out or in a restaurant almost for a week now because I have been uninspired and too (mentally) tired to prepare a real meal.

I have also not been out myself on two of those nights with friends having a good time while my kids and husband are at home to fend for themselves.

There's no way I would have stolen borrowed Small Fry's three-ponytail hairstyle for my own 1 1/2-year old and then loved the look so much I included a photo of her in it on my new blog banner.

I'm certainly not stalled out on the progress of my Project 365 album. After all, I have been (really!) taking photos (almost) everyday but I just haven't edited them yet.

Of course, we are also SO good about sending out our thank you's in a timely manner that I do not still have all of Em's nicely written Christmas thank you's all ready to go out but needing stamps and addresses. And they have not been sitting in the same pile for a month now.

And you all know how much I hate dessert, so you can rest assured that I did absolutely not share not one, but two desserts at the Barnes and Noble Starbucks yesterday with my Em.  No, not me!

I have not typed, edited, re-edited and resaved this post a dozen times because my brain is working overly slowly and I can't seem to get it just right yet.

"Not Me!" Monday

NotMeMonday I did not pass by a huge crowd of squeal-y teenage girls at the movie theater on Friday night (as we came out of Madagascar 2) wishing that I was in line to see Twilight myself.  As I said last week, I do not plan to see it myself.

I did not skip dinner and instead gorge on movie theater popcorn and a big piece of chocolate.  I also would not allow my 7-year old to enjoy that type of decadence with us.

I did not give in to my 17-month old when she cried wanting more of the double batch of Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies I baked and actually give her another one after she had two already.

I most definitely am not like Tim "The Tool Man" Taylor when it comes to picking out a turkey.  After all, I did pass up the 30 pounder in favor of one that was only 27 lbs.

I am not planning to go downstairs to the principal's office when I finish this post and enjoy more than my share of delicious pies and cookies since Pie and Cookie Day at my school is not my most favorite day of school all year.  Are you noticing the overindulgence theme?

My very first "Not me!" Monday

NotMeMonday I've been reading these posts on MckMama's blog for awhile now and realized that I've got a few things to add myself today.

  • I did not go almost a month and a half without a proper post on my blog.
  • I do not check MckMama's blog everyday hoping for a new glimpse of MckMuffin, who by the way is doing fabulously and is a living testament to the power of prayer.
  • I most certainly did not just finish the Twilight series after spending almost a month reading in every free minute to the exclusion of just about everything else, including my blog, after swearing that I would not read a story about vampires.
  • I definitely will not go see the movie when it comes out this week, since I would not see a movie about vampires, either.
  • I didn't go to Dale and Thomas this weekend and gorge on Kettlecorn, Chipotle Cheddar and Peanut Butter White Chocolate drizzlecorn.  And of course, I would never allow my 7-year old and 17-month old to also gorge on popcorn rather than eat a proper lunch.
  • I am not allowing said 17-month old to still use a pacifier at this advanced age, and I would not have allowed her to begin using this pacifier at the age of 11 months.
  • There is no way that I would have put off grading some student work to write this post during my planning period.
